On this guided tour you will zip along the new bike path by the Bay to Fort Point where you can enjoy a snack at the Warming Hut before proceeding up to the bridge. San Francisco Electric Bike Tour over the Golden Gate Bridge

This tour is limited to guests ages 16 and up. We require a minimum of 4 guests to run the Bike Tour. Individual reservations will be combined into groups of 4 as needed.

Please indicate alternate tour times or dates in the event that your preferred choice is full or unavailable.

AGE /WEIGHT / RIDER REQUIREMENTS: All guests must be age 16 or older No pregnant guests. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian on the tour. No refunds for any member of your party if you do not meet these criteria.

This activity is not recommended for guests under 5'-2" tall as bikes do not adjust to that height range. Also not recommended for guests age 70 and up or guests with some mobility issues. If you have questions please call before booking.

From May 23 through May 28 2012 we will be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge with commerative Electric Bike Tours in place of our regular tour departues. A little extra fun for that one week. 

            

Departure Dates and Times:

10:00 AM Daily. We require a minimum of 4 guests to run the Bike Tour. Individual reservations will be combined into groups of 4 as needed. Please indicate an alternate date and time on order form. All tours start on time, so please arrive 15 minutes early.

Closed December 25th & 31st, November 25th and January 1st.

Tour Length:

Bike fitting and training takes 15 minutes. Tours are approximately 3 hours. Total: 3.5 - 4 hours including the training time and return ferry ride. During the busy Summer season training time may be slightly longer. Weekend Ferry departure time is 25 minutes later than Weekday Schedule.

RETURN FERRY SCHEDULE: Subject to change

WEEKDAYS Depart Sausalito: 12:55 p.m. Arrive Pier 41 Fisherman's Wharf 1:25 p.m

WEEKENDS Depart Sausalito: 1:15 p.m. Arrive Pier 41 Fisherman's Wharf 1:50 p.m

Weekend Schedule operates on Memorial Day (May 25), Independence Day (July 4), and Labor Day (Sept 7)

The Ferries are very busy in the Summer season. The ferry boarding tickets do not guarantee a specific departure time. The entire group may have to wait for the next departure time if space is not available.

IMPORTANT: Tour finishes in San Francisco. We will not be able to bring your bike back to San Francisco for guests that want to stay in Sausalito.

BONUS TIME : Please let your guide know in advance in you want to  extend your bike ride time  in Sausalitio / Tiburon and return later on your own schedule  Addition paperwork and a credit card on file is required for guests keeping bikes after the stop in Sausalito.

This tour must be booked at least 12 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability.

Rider Requirements and Route Info:

The San Francisco Electric Bike Tour has only a few restrictions:

• Ages 16 and up. Our suggested minimum weight for any rider is 85 lbs (39 kg). Minimum suggested height is 5'-2". The bikes weigh 70 lbs (32 kg) and will need to be pedaled up hills on some parts of the route.
• All riders will be required to pedal on the Golden Gate Bridge without using the power assist.
• Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Helmets are required and will be provided.
• It is suggested that guests do not wear flip-flops, open-toe sandals, or high heels.
• Guests must sign a liability waiver.
• Credit Card & rental agreement on file required for guests wishing to use Free Bonus Rental Time at end of tour.  Guests will be responsible for cost of loss of damage to bikes during free Bonus use.
• Guests must complete the Electric Bike rider training and test ride.
• Guests must respect road signs, pedestrians, bikes and cars for a safe enjoyable ride.
• A drivers license is not required to ride a bike.
• Any damages to bike or property are the responsibility of the rider.
• No pregnant guests due to fall risk. Not recomended for guests over 70 or guests with mobility problems.

Child Seats / Trailers Are Not Available
We DO NOT have child seats or tag along trailers for these bikes. We DO NOT have a child version of this bike. This tour is designed for ages 16 and up. At a minimum the tour route will require some pedaling to assist climbing hilly areas. Certain parts of the route may require pedaling when the electric assist motor cannot be used due to local regulations.

Training Session, Bike Lane Route Info and Ferry Schedule

Riding a Electric Bike is similar to riding a regular bike with a few differences - That's why the tour time includes 15 minutes of rider training so you can get comfortable on the bike before we head out on the route. During the busy Summer season training time may be slightly longer.

The training session provides first-time riders with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to safely operate the bike. You'll be guided through a simulated obstacle course of  turns and an emergency stop to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.

Our routes in San Francisco and Sausalito are mainly on designated bike lanes. These bike lanes in some places are adjacent to city streets. In some places the bike lane is the full width of the city street. We are in a busy big city and will be in some high traffic areas. There a few uphill sections and a long downhill into Sausalito. You will be pedaling!

San Francisco has more bike lanes per square mile than any other US City. Bikes are not allowed on the sidewalk. You will have to be aware of your surroundings and traffic.

Liability Agreement:
All customers will be required to review and sign our tour agreement and liability waiver before starting their tour. The San Francisco Electric Tour Company assumes no responsibility for delays caused by accidents, breakdown, bad conditions of the road and other conditions beyond our control, in addition to insufficient numbers of guests. Not responsible for loss or damage to property.

Changes to a Reservation and Cancellation and No Show Policy:
Reservations require a full deposit via Credit Card. We will send an e-mail confirmation of the date and time of your tour. Deposits are fully refundable if the reservation is canceled 3 days -72 hours or more prior to the scheduled tour. We have a limited amount of Segways. No Shows are charged in full. The deposit WILL NOT be refunded for any reason within 72 hours of your scheduled tour. A signed liability waiver is required prior to your tour departure.

IMPORTANT Check your Confirmation for Correct Date and Time:
It is your responsibility to be at the designated tour location on the correct date. Please check your confirmation carefully. No refund for no-shows.

Languages:
Bike tours are conducted in English.

Meals Souvenirs and Miscellaneous Costs:
Tour prices do not include Meals, Beverages, Admission Fees, Tolls or Souvenirs.

Tour Size, Routing and Weather:
We reserve the right to change the size or routing of the tour to meet demands for that specific day. San Francisco is famous for the fog! Our tours run fog, light rain or shine. We always suggest multiple layers of warm clothing for any San Francisco activity. Summer afternoon temperatures can be in the 50's. Rain gear is available for those infrequent rainy days. Bikes are designed to run in any weather. If seasonal fog or weather obscures the view, tour routes may be altered. You will not be charged if we cancel a tour.

Hotel Pick Up:
We do not offer Hotel Pick up service for our tours.
